Is "start a discussion" more intuitive than "start a topic"?

Hello @Anne do you find “start a discussion” more intuitive than “start a topic”?

Let me know and will change other references from topic to discussion.

Definitely use “start a discussion” as (1) it is more informal and therefore not so threatening (2) you might not know the specific topic (3) in many cases there is more than one topic within a discussion.
